Complete line - from can depalletizer to can palletizer
We present to you today a can-labeling line that has been recently installed for one of the most important preserved goods producers in Italy. It handles 1/2 kg tin cans at a speed of 50'000 cph.
Cosmapack provided the full line aside from the labeler and the tray packer .
The line starts from the magnetic head depalletizer that picks up a layer of cans and places them on the release table in single file.
The cans then undergo dimension and orientation checks that lead to the ejection or reorientation of some cans, in order to have the easy peel handle always on the same side.
The transportation system has been studied to maximize the amount of buffered cans in case of downstream machine stops. The conveyor belts move the cans from the depalletizer to the labeler, from the labeler to the tray packer machine and then towards the palletizer.
The palletizer that has been installed in this line is the fastest in Cosmapack's wide range of palletizers. It is a dual-entry palletizer equipped with two line pushers in parallel. Its innovative pack orientation system allows packs to be rotated at high speed without experiencing any mechanical stress.
This technology has allowed us to palletize at high speed even filmless trays where can stability is weak. This palletizer has a max throughput of 80 packs per minute.
The movement of the palettizing head and openable rollers is controlled by a KUKA 4 axis robot with a payload of up to 700 kg . This solution has enabled us to comfortably reach speeds of 6 layers per minute.
The full pallets are then conveyed to a rotating arm stretchwrapper with adjustable prestretch percentage, pallet lifter and terminal film edge welder.
The labeling information is provided to the client's labeller, which labels both sides of the pallet. The pallet is finally transferred to the unloading rollers.
